Stock Photography

If you want to make a bit of extra cash from taking photos that I would highly recommend stock photography. If you are not sure what stock photography is, well read on my friend and all will be explained.

What is Stock Photography?

I will keep it short and sweet for you. Stock photography is taking images and then licensing them to companies/small businesses/people who need them. This means that it is possible your photo could be used in a blog, a vlog, corporate advertising and so much more. The possibilities are endless.

How can I do this?

I understand you maybe thinking well how am I going to get my images out there on the t’internet. Well do not worry, I have the answer. You can use stock websites such as Getty Images, Alamy, Shutterstock, Adobe annd..others as well, but I can not remember anymore.

I personally use Alamy(Alamy.com). If you visit the website, at the top of the page, you will see an option that says “Sell images”. Click that and follow the on screen instructions. I have found with Alamy that the process to sell your images on the site is quick and easy. Also after you have been accepted, its super simple to submit images and once they pass QC, they are up on the site within 2 days. Which when you compare to Getty images, its amazing. Also another great thing about Alamy, they let you know which images are needed on the site by their clients. So all you need to do is snap the images and upload them and collect the money…

Well time to quit the day job

No, no no no and NO. I hate to burst your bubble but you are not going to get super rich from stock images. It just will not happen at the pace you need it too. However stock photography is a great way to make an extra bit of income. So get out there and snap some photos.
